There are main two articles in English that you must know:
“The” and “a/an” and they are known as “Definite” (the) and “Indefinite” (a/an) articles.
The is used to refer to specific or particular nouns or groups of things, “a/an” are used to refer to nonspecific nouns or groups.
For example if you say:
Let’s watch the movie, it means that you are referring to a particular movie, the listener and yourself know which movie you are talking about.
But if instead you say:
Let’s watch a movie , it means that you are not referring to any particular movie.
Although a/an both mean the same, use a before a consonant or consonant sound, and use an before a vowel or a vowel sound.
Example: A computer – An apple.
